Costs Guidance

All families are  unique and costs depend upon the complexity of the case and how easy each couple finds it to reach their compromise solution. I will talk to you at the outset about a costs structure that will work for you and we will review costs along the way. I will keep you informed about the costs you have incurred and the costs that you are likely to incur as the case progresses. I know that costs are a huge worry for separating couples. If you want to access more information about how costs are likely to work then please do call me on 07515 809552:

Telephone consultation

This is without charge and lasts 30 minutes.

Comprehensive evaluation meeting

This lasts between 1 and 2 hours and attracts a fixed fee of £250 plus VAT.

Collaborative Representation

I will work with you to agree a capped or fixed fee structure for each collaborative meeting and any associated legal drafting work. That way you will know where you stand at the outset and there will be no surprises.

Family mediation

Mediation meetings last 2 hours and there is a fixed cost for each meeting which helps you to know where you stand. There would be some additional drafting work at the conclusion of our mediation process.  You will also need to pay for legal advice and support from your solicitor parallel to our mediation process, and your solicitor will draft the legal documents at the end of the mediation process.  These costs are in addition to the mediation fee.

Mediation Support and Litigation Support

These services are intended for individuals who do not wish to have a full legal service but seek to rely upon my services alongside another process in which they are directly involved. We can discuss the most cost effective use of my time and I would provide my advice and support when and where required. I would explore the likely number of hours needed or we could agree a maximum level of involvement based around a fixed fee cost so that you know where you stand at the outset.

Other costs

There may be times when it is appropriate and cost effective for you to seek input/advice from another expert such as a financial advisor or parenting coach. We will discuss these options as they arise and I will work with you to ensure that you receive the most cost effective service possible. Working effectively with other experts can help to reduce the overall cost of the process and ensures that you access the right level of expertise at the right time.
